Teachers’ Council

The Teachers' Council (TC) of the College is a statutory body comprising of all full-time faculty members and the Librarian of the College. The Teacher-in-Charge is the ex-officio Chair of this Council. The Teachers’ Council Secretary is nominated by the members of the Council and convenes meetings on a regular basis to discuss and decide on academic and administrative matters. This Council advises the Principal on various academic matters, including curriculum design, examination schedules, student welfare, and improvements in teaching resources such as libraries and laboratories. The Council forms various committees to oversee specific academic and extracurricular activities, such as admissions, examinations, sports, cultural events, and infrastructural facilities. The Council operates on democratic principles with decisions made collectively through regular meetings and discussions. The TC contributes a sum of money to RUDDUR (the social outreach unit of the College) and SPCMC Nature Club on a regular basis. It is also concerned with the welfare of the College staff and the people living in neighborhood areas and donates money from the Teachers’ Council Fund (created from the monthly contribution of the members) as and when needed.
