Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics, with its qualified faculty and modernised classroom teaching techniques, helps the students to acquire in-depth study of the fundamental principles and theories and also enable them to apply these concepts in real life situation. The department has a computer laboratory of its own where the students can learn computer programming under the guidance of departmental teachers. The main thrust in the syllabus is on Analysis, Algebra, Geometry, Mathematical logic Numerical techniques and Mechanics. The detailed lesson plan will be provided at the beginning of the session. For boosting overall performance of the students and to keep the laggards afloat, special counselling is done by the teachers on a regular basis through remedial classes.

          Program Outcome:

PO1. Mathematical Reasoning: The basic objective of Studying Mathematics both in Honours and General course is to develop the mathematical reasoning power of the students. Throughout the entire course the students not only solve different types of problems, they can justify the computational procedures with proper mathematical reasoning.

PO2. Critical Thinking: To enhance their power of critical thinking through solving varieties of unsolved problems and studying different application of Mathematical Analysis.

PO3. Employment opportunities: To equip students for the employment sectors such as different consultancy services, teaching and other government and corporate sectors.

          Program Specific Outcome:

PSO1. Errorless Computation: The entire syllabus for Undergraduate Course is framed in such a way that the students can solve the mathematical problems reducing different computational complexity to zero.

PSO2. Critical thinking: As the entire syllabus is framed with mathematical theory and their applications the students can be motivated for critical thinking towards further specialisation and research.

          Course Outcome:

Understanding Mathematics and its application throughout the course
